Ryan and I
teamed up with our friend and neighbor Jared Sharp to try our luck with the Lake Lewisville sand bass. And boy did we score! Here is Jared holding the (at that time) big fish of the day. This biggun was 14 inches long. Jared has become our good luck charm. He was present on the best trip we had last year and he was in the boat again this year for our best trip (so far).
Big fish
honors, however, went to Ryan with this brute. It measured 16 inches long and fought REAL hard. We started our trip earlier than we usually do and arrived at the old spillway at about 4:00 PM. The fish were already goin nuts. The fishin was fast and furious from 4 till around 7:30. I was some kind of tired when it was all over. The fish rarely gave us a break. For 3.5 hours it was practically non stop action.
The weather
was near perfect for this time of year. The wind was not a factor at all. Ryan also won the award for the smallest dink of the day. He caught most of his fish on a chrome rattle trap. Jared was using a chrome little george and I was skipping a chrome torpedo across the top. We sacked em.
