My good friend Roy (Rock) Hudman

came up to the big city last weekend. We wound up on Ray Roberts fishing
for anything that would bite. Of course he outfished me and my son Seth
again. He caught this one on a solid chartruse colored Model-A. He believes
the Larry Nixon autograph on the bait is what the fish wanted this time.
He brought his big, bad 21 foot Dynatrack with a 150 horsepower Evinrude so
the three of us could fish in comfort and style. It was a good thing too. My
little 16 foot Cajun could not have handled the choppy water we encountered.
It was like the open seas out there.

 Rock caught
this one while trolling around sand bass flats. Around 7:00 PM we decided
to go bassing in Indian Cove. The only bite we got was on my carolina
rigged worm. And it was a dandy! It may have weighed as much as 7 pounds
but we are sure it was not under 5 pounds. But my puny 12 pound test line
did me wrong. It was also a pretty dumb thing I did too. I was telling
Roy to "Get The Net" (code for its a big one) as I fought her. I had the beast
to the boat before he was ready (his jaw was on the deck of the boat after
she did a tail dance) and I stupidly decided to hoist the brute into the boat. That
was not the smartest thing I have ever done! SNAP! GONE! The only picture we
have to show off is this cheesy one of some sand bass we caught while trolling.
Well, another lesson learned the hard way.
