     March 6, 1998

    Well, the weather did

a number on us this time! We received a good tip that the sandbass were biting
in the upper part of Denton Creek which feeds Grapevine Lake. So Rock, who
was visiting from Fairfield, and I launched the boat and started trolling up the
creek. After about a mile Rock landed this 13 inch sand bass weighing 1
pound. The fish hit a red/gold Rapala stick bait (And Monte got outfished again). As
soon as we stuck the fish in the live well the rain started. We had perfectly good
slicker suits.....in the garage back home.

We were both drinched and it was COLD! We were so miserable we decided to release the
fish, bag this trip and go the next day (Saturday) but it rained all that day too.
Hopefully next trip will be better.
