     July 10, 1998

    Got up early (3:20 AM)

and went bass fishing with John Francis. We started out on the hydrilla beds west of Wolf Island on Lake Ray Roberts.

Nothing there but I came up with this one on the north side of Wolf Island. She slammed my Carolina rigged worm just after I told John we should go somewhere else "because there aren't any fish here".

No more than 2 minutes later John hooked up with one too.

Got a bad picture though. I think the camera got wet. This shot is actually a double exposure. Nothing came out of the Polaroid on the first shot so we took another. And this is it. We fished most of the good places that I have fished before or have heard about
(ie
 July Hotspots)
but we didn't catch anything else but a dink of a sandbass while trolling.

The next day

my sons, Will & Ryan, and I went to Lake Lewisville. I dragged them around, tubing until about 7:00 PM. Then we found a big school of sandbass going nuts just to the south of the dam cut. For a few minutes it was a fish every cast. At one point we were simply throwing them on the deck of the boat so we could catch another one before they went down.
