Ryan

and I took another early trip to Ray Roberts. We were looking to do some live bait bassin. On our way to the lake we had quite a scare when we heard a BANG and sparks went flying behind the trailer. Turned out to be a busted spring on the boat trailer. We limped it on to the boat ramp anyway (we had fishin fever real bad). We launched the boat at the marina but found no shad at all. We didn't find any bass either. But we found the sand bass at the dam.

We

were crusing along side the dam looking for surface activity when we had to stop the boat to switch to the backup gas tank. As the wind pushed us away from the dam we saw a huge mass on the graph. Having been fooled before by my humminbird I told ryan to pitch a slab behind the boat. It never made it to the bottom. One hit it instantly. I threw out a marker and the good times rolled! The big school stayed in the same spot for about an hour. Before all the action was over there were probably 30+ boats chasing sandies. Everybody had a big grin too!
