Monte Ryan with one of the many white bass caught on our latest trip to Ray Bob and Ryan slaughtered the sand bass Monday evening. We hit the lake at 4:30 PM and headed straight for our favorite sand bass honey hole. Which is at the mouth of Johnson Cove. No fish. No birds. No nothin! So Ryan suggested we check out the dam.

Well he was right. We found the birds going absolutley nuts on the west end of the dam. We limited out and then some. And that Lowrance unit is somethin else! When it says there are fish under you, they are. We caught them with slabs, rattle traps, blades, and Model-A's. As long as it flashed they would hit it. Ryan and a Zara Spook Bass Sometimes the slab wouldn't even make it to the bottom before a fish would slam it.

Around 6:15 PM we decided to leave the sand bass and do some bassin. We tried our luck in Bonny Pond, right there at the main lake point. Ryan caught his first Zara Spook Bass and he liked it. It wasn't big but it put on a show for us. Ryan was workin the spook for all it was worth. Then the fish swirled on it. Ryan let the bait sit there but he didn't come back for it. He worked it back to the boat then threw it right back out and the fish trashed it good!
