Monte
and his son Ryan fished Lake Ray Roberts a few days ago with Monte's friend John Francis and John's son Scott. We found a brush pile in Johnson Branch and did some crappie fishing. The pile was easily found. It had a piece of it sticking up out of the water. We just tied the boat up to it and started fishing. We were using live minnows on red/white crappie jigs. Everybody caught fish but Monte. Several crappie, big perch, and the ugliest catfish we had ever seen. Does anyone know what kind of catfish this is?
A
revolting development occurred last weekend. The boat has not been running real good the last few outings. New plugs, fuel line and carb cleaning failed to improve the situation. So off to Fairfield we went. Thats where Monte's Master Mechanic (Roy Rock Hudman) lives. We performed compression checks on all of the cylinders and found none on #4. We pulled the head cover off and there it was. The piston had a nasty hole in the corner. Parts are on order but Monte is fishin from the bank while the motor is in pieces on Roy's workbench.
