Ryan and I took our neighbor and friend Jared Sharp with us to hunt the big bass. Didn't find any. But man did we ever find the sand bass! We launched at pilot point at 1:30 pm and drifted over the weed beds west of Wolf Island. Ryan came up with a couple of stray sand bass. But we were hyped about the big black bass so we headed into Walnut Creek. Boy was that a bust!

About 3:30 or 4:00 we came out of there disgruntled with our confidence shaken. When we got to the poles we saw the birds working the west side of the weed beds. We caught so many sand bass we filled the live wells up real quick. We threw back more than we kept. The final count on the ones we kept was 37. We estimate we caught at least 70 fish, probably more.
